Terms of Use

Metadata Remover ("the App") is provided by Ertuğrul Sarı. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not use the App.

1. Purpose of the App

The App removes metadata embedded in your files. Depending on the file, that includes camera and device details (EXIF and TIFF), editorial fields (IPTC), and GPS coordinates recording where a photo or video was taken. It works on photos, videos, and PDF documents, entirely on your device. The App is available for personal, non-commercial use.

The App removes the metadata it can detect in the formats it supports; it is not a guarantee of anonymity. Some file formats and containers store information in ways the App cannot reach, and some services add new metadata of their own after you upload or send a file. The App also does not change what is visible inside the file itself: faces, documents, landmarks, screen contents, or readable text in an image remain exactly as they were. If a file is sensitive, verify the result yourself before sharing it, and do not rely on the App as your only safeguard.

2. Eligibility

The App is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age, or 16 in the European Economic Area. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App may offer optional premium subscription plans that unlock additional features. Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat, and are subject to Apple's terms and conditions.

• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
• All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple via https://reportaproblem.apple.com/. We do not process refunds directly.
• We reserve the right to modify which features are available under any subscription tier at any time.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user, you agree to the following:

• Lawful use: You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws.
• Your files: You confirm that you own the files you process with the App, or otherwise have the right to modify them. You are responsible for how you use the cleaned files, and for keeping your own backup of anything important.
• Non-commercial use: The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.
• Prohibited activities: You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App; attempt to circumvent subscription checks; use automated systems, bots, or scripts to interact with the App; or engage in any activity that disrupts the App's operation.
• Intellectual property: You agree not to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the App's content, code, design, or branding without express written permission from the App owner.

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including Apple (App Store, payments, and your photo library when you choose to save a file) and RevenueCat (subscription management). The App does not send your files or their metadata to any third party. You agree that:

• We are not responsible for the availability, performance, accuracy, or data practices of any third-party service.
• Third-party services may be changed, discontinued, or altered at any time, potentially affecting App features.
• Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policies.

6. Disclaimer of Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, that every piece of metadata will be removed from every file, or that a processed file will be untraceable.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ertuğrul Sarı shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App. This includes but is not limited to:

• Any consequence of relying on the App to remove information from a file, including metadata that could not be detected or removed, or information that remains visible in the file's content.
• Loss of, or damage to, any file, including originals and processed copies.
• Issues with subscriptions or payments processed through Apple.
• Failures, downtime, or data loss caused by Apple, RevenueCat, or any other third-party service.

Any decision you make based on the App's output, including sharing or publishing a processed file, is done entirely at your own risk.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App (including its design, code, graphics, algorithms, and branding) remain the sole property of Ertuğrul Sarı and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal use only. This license does not grant you any rights to copy, distribute, or modify the App's content or assets without express permission.

9. Updates and Discontinuation

We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App. In the event of discontinuation, unused subscription periods will be subject to Apple's refund policies.

10. Termination of Access

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time if we have reason to believe you are in violation of these Terms. Termination does not entitle you to refunds unless required by Apple's policies or applicable law.

11. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are between you and Ertuğrul Sarı only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App.

• Scope of license: Your license to use the App is a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Maintenance and support: Ertuğrul Sarı is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App, as specified in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support.
• Warranty: Ertuğrul Sarı is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• Product claims: Ertuğrul Sarı, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
• Intellectual property: In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Ertuğrul Sarı, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of such claim.
• Legal compliance: You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Developer contact: Questions, complaints, or claims about the App should be directed to Ertuğrul Sarı at estifieapps@gmail.com.
• Third-party beneficiary: You acknowledge and agree that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and that Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

12. Privacy Policy

By using the App, you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains how the App handles your files and which third-party services it uses. The Privacy Policy is accessible within the App and on our official website.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms will be subject to mediation or arbitration as per the laws of Turkey. These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, and any unresolved disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Turkey. Users may have additional rights under applicable local laws, including the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California.

14. Changes to the Terms of Use

We may update or modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms.
