Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Ertuğrul Sarı ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and handles information when you use Export Contacts (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

1. Who We Are

The App is developed and operated by Ertuğrul Sarı, an independent developer. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at estifieapps@gmail.com.

2. Our Privacy Stance

Here is the short version:

• We do not require accounts, sign-ins, or email addresses.
• We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
• Reading, matching, and writing your contacts all happen on this device. Nothing about your contacts — names, numbers, emails, or any other field — is ever sent to us or to any AI or analytics service.
• A backup you make is a real, full copy of your contacts — the same names, numbers, and emails that are in your address book — written to your own private iCloud storage, in a container that belongs only to this App and that we cannot open, read, or run any kind of analysis on.
• We do not run analytics on the content of your contacts, an export or import file, or a backup, ever — not in any form, anonymized or otherwise. The analytics described below never touch what is inside them, only that an action happened.
• We keep no copy of your contacts, your exported or imported files, or your backups anywhere we control — not on a server, not in a log, not in a support ticket, unless you paste one into an email to us yourself.
• We do not use advertising identifiers, App Tracking Transparency, session replay, or cross-app tracking of any kind.
• Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

The App reads your device's address book only to do what you asked it to do: build an export file in the format you chose, compare entries to find duplicates, or add contacts back from a file or a backup you selected. None of that reading, comparing, or writing ever leaves your device — there is no server between your address book and the file you end up with.

When you export contacts, the file (CSV, Excel, vCard, or PDF) is built entirely on your device and saved, shared, or opened exactly where you direct it — to Files, to another app, or to yourself. When you import contacts, the file you pick is read on your device and its entries are added to your address book only after you confirm. When you back up your contacts, a snapshot file — a real, full copy of the contacts you backed up, in the same form they exist in your address book: names, phone numbers, emails, and any other field you have on them — is written to this App's own private folder inside your iCloud account, under your own Apple ID; restoring reads that same file back. This is genuinely your data, sitting in your own iCloud, not ours: we never receive a copy of it, we never read it, and we never run analytics against what is inside it.

Information Collected Automatically

The App does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, or browsing history. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not request App Tracking Transparency, because it does not track you across other apps or websites.

The App does collect a narrow slice of anonymous product analytics, limited to the paywall and the welcome screens the first time you open the App: which onboarding step you reached or skipped, and whether the paywall was shown, which plan you looked at, and whether the purchase was started, completed, cancelled, or failed. That is the whole list. The App does not track which screens you otherwise visit, whether an export, import, duplicate scan, or backup succeeded or failed, how many contacts or fields were involved, which file format you chose, or whether you were asked for contacts access. This is never tied to your name or email, and never includes a contact's name, number, email, or any other field, the contents of a file you exported or imported, or anything inside your iCloud backup — we do not analyze, scan, or otherwise process the content of your contacts in any form, ever, not even anonymized. No session replay, no screen recording, and no IP-based location are collected.

If you subscribe to a premium plan, the App receives subscription state from RevenueCat (described in Section 5). RevenueCat assigns a pseudonymous identifier to your installation, which cannot be linked back to you personally — the App has no accounts, so RevenueCat never receives your name, email, or any other contact information alongside it.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect payment card information; all payments are processed by Apple. We do not access your camera, microphone, precise or coarse location, motion data, calendars, or Apple Health. We do not maintain user profiles, and we do not use cookies.

4. How We Use Your Information

Your contacts are read, compared, or written to only to carry out the export, import, duplicate cleanup, or backup you started, entirely on your device. We do not see the result, do not analyze it, and cannot reconstruct it from anything we hold, because we hold none of it and never will.

Anonymous analytics are used only to understand whether the welcome screens and the paywall are working — for example, whether people finish onboarding or leave partway through, and whether the paywall is shown and converts — so we can improve those two screens without needing you to tell us.

Your subscription entitlement is used only to determine whether you are on the premium plan, which lifts the free plan's per-export contact limit and unlocks exporting by group, exporting everything at once, importing, duplicate cleanup, and iCloud backup.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to anyone. We share data only in the following limited circumstances.

Apple: All purchases are processed by Apple under your Apple ID. Apple shares with us only the information required to verify your purchase. Your iCloud backup snapshots are stored by Apple in your own iCloud account, in a private container this App cannot share data out of. RevenueCat: RevenueCat manages your in-app subscription on our behalf. It receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, your purchase receipt from Apple, and your entitlement status. It does not receive your contacts, any file you exported or imported, your name, or your email. RevenueCat Privacy Policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

PostHog: We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics, configured with tracking, autocapture, session replay, and IP-based geolocation disabled. It receives the events described in Section 3 and a pseudonymous device identifier, never your contacts, a file you exported or imported, or anything inside your iCloud backup. Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ertuğrul Sarı, our users, or the public.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your address book stays where iOS keeps it, under Apple's own protection; the App only reads and writes it through the system's Contacts framework and never copies it elsewhere on your device or off it. A file you export is stored wherever you chose to save it — Files, another app, or nowhere at all if you only shared it once. A file you import is read once and not retained by the App after its entries are added to your address book. An iCloud backup snapshot — a real, full copy of the contacts you backed up — is stored in this App's own private container in your iCloud account, under your own Apple ID, until you delete it from within the App or delete the App itself, which removes the App's container along with it; it is protected by iCloud's own encryption in transit and at rest, the same as any other file you keep in iCloud, and we hold no copy of it, retain none of it, and run no analytics against it anywhere on our end. Subscription state is stored on RevenueCat's servers per their retention policy and can be reset by contacting Apple to cancel and refund your purchase.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us at estifieapps@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Because we do not maintain any user account database and never receive a copy of your contacts, nearly all of your data — your address book, your exported files, your iCloud backups — resides on your own device or in your own iCloud account, which you control directly.

To remove an iCloud backup snapshot, delete it from the App's backup list. To remove an exported file, delete it from wherever you saved it. Uninstalling the App removes its private iCloud container along with any snapshots inside it; your address book itself is unaffected, because the App never held a copy of it to begin with.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, you have rights to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, as well as rights to data portability and to object to processing. Because nearly all data is stored on your own device or in your own iCloud account, most of these rights can be exercised directly within the App. For any remaining requests, contact us at estifieapps@gmail.com.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. Contact us at estifieapps@gmail.com for any requests.

If you are a resident of Turkey, you have rights under the KVKK (Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698), including rights to access, rectification, and erasure. Contact us at estifieapps@gmail.com.

9. Security

The App reads and writes your address book only through iOS's own Contacts framework, which benefits from the protections iOS applies to that data. Your iCloud backup snapshots are protected by iCloud's own encryption in transit and at rest. Communications with RevenueCat, PostHog, and Apple's purchase services are protected by HTTPS/TLS. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, through a notice in the App or the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
